A new generation fighting for life
Breaking the rules, breaking new ground
To upstage its elders and reach new extremes
Life’s a long windy road and shortcuts only hurt

Stand up for self its I who is god
I am stronger than you, you’re weak and you know
I have a mind of my own, shut up and see
Doubtless you were the people but will wisdom die with you

You tell me to revere god in splendour and grace
He’s here in my hands, blink and he’s gone
Life’s secure where I am, Lord me upon high
You, me and the rest of life’s post-modern gods

And when does this journey reach its end
And where is meaning, and where is love
Show me the place where I can buy these things
Self justified stumbling along with no-where to go
